4.0L engine component name needed

I have a '96 Cherokee with the 4.0L I6 and I would like to know the name of the component on top of the head at the front which has a 90degree elbrow that connects to a hose that goes to the air cleaner (sorry for any english teachers as this is a huge carryon sentence).

I would like to know if anyone else has experience light motor oil film around that fitting as I have noticed that there is a little bit there every couple of weeks. The fitting onto the head is a rubber component? Does this fitting got bad? Is this a serviceable part?

Thanks!

Does one end of the hose connect to the PVC valve on the valve cover?

How many miles on the engine?

and does the breather box have a little oil in it?

engine has 87,000.

There is no oil on the filter. I checked that because I thought that would be there but it wasn't.

If I understand you correctly, you see a light film of oil forming around the PCV valve, with 87K you should be ok, if you want to you can replace that grommet that holds the PCV valve in and that should solve your problems, either way, it is not something to get overly concerned about.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I didn't know if that component is serviceable. I figured it was. I just don't really know how it is installed. Is it just a double shouldered elastomer.

Thanks.
