power steering

can any one tell me why my power steering fluid boils over every ime i refill it makeing sure not to put to much in, and now it just stops and when i try to start it a clicking sound is heard, it starts after awhile only to turn off again with same clicking sound when i try to start i have a 1985 735i bmw

Stop What You Are Doing!!!

First of all...MAKE SURE YOU ARE POURING IN TRANNY FLUID!

The power steering system on the E23's weren't designed to take normal P/S fluid. Only ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) is supposed to go in there...so that may be part of your problem.

READ THIS!!!

Unless you know that already and have been following this procedure, then I'll do some more digging.

thanks for the reply i am useing tranny fluid right now im looking for a leak but cant seem to find one, i pour fluid into tank only to find it empty after a couple hours without even starting the car
