I wish I was an angel

...then I can spy on girls in the shower, get Nuclear defense plans, go to strip bars, etc...

But seriously, I'd like to be an angel so I can go around and help people in need.

Interesting. It sounds almost like you want to sacrifice yourself to aid others. That's very Noble, I respect you.

Yeah, there's too much suffering in the world now. I wish I could help everyone, but that's impossible right now.

Helping people is good. Peace is good. Friendship is good. Unity among nations is good. Terrorism is bad. Stop the violence. Stop the war. Stop the hate. Stop the prejudice. Stop the discrimination.

I am only one tiny voice in this huge world. Somehow I hope to make a difference.

The difference.. I don't know about that. I think about this all the time. What if we wage this full scale "war on terrorism" to the bitter end, and we win, and wipe out all the terrorists. Then what? Will peace and prosperity reign on earth? This is a rhetorical question, with the obvious, and unfortunate answer "no." Maybe for 15 minutes, but that's all we get.

I just don't see it. This is an omnipotent threat. The radical religious fundamentalists are everywhere. You wipe one out, and another one, like a mischevious hedgehog, will pop up somewhere else. It's human nature that a certain percentage of our population will be predisposed and driven to self-sacrifice and violence against others. Hey, this is my northeast cynicism coming to the surface (and yes, we do feel that this is realism, not cynicism). I feel we're taking the right course of action, but I wish I could feel confident that winning this war would lead to even a partial period of American stability in terms of national security. This too I don't see.
