Cooling Problem
I don't get it. I have not had a cooling problem at all with my formula until now. So check this out and see if anyone can make sence of this...
I took my car into the dealership for an oil change. I picked up my car that afternoon and drove it back to work with no problems. Now when I drove home I noticed that my temp guage was readily above 210. When I parked my car in the garage I hear a gurgling sound like coolant is boiling in the raidiator and a couple of min later coolant spills out of my fill resivior. I really dont have any idea on what an oil change could do to possibly cause this. Is it possible to overfill on a topoff? But then again that wouldn't cause boiling that I can think of. NOTE: I know I do not have a coolant leak. My water pump was warrenty replaced last year along with head gaskets. I have a new radiator cap from my emmissions failure in November of 2006. The drive home is all freeway but like any metro are is pretty much stop and go for 6-7 miles. The recommended coolant is all that I use and it was flushed last year. In short, I try my best to keep up with scheduled maintenance so I dont get blindsided like this. Thanks all.

Re: Cooling Problem
you probably have air in there somewhere....drain it and fill again. or your thermostat maybe stuck.

Re: Cooling Problem
After going into the girage and looking under the hood I think I have found it. Seems to be right under the air intake mounted to the front of the manifold? Does not seem hard to get to at all if all I need to do is remove the air intake hose. Confirm?

you might spill some coolant, but that's about it.

Re: Cooling Problem
If you have a TPI it may make life alot easier to remove the Throttle Body.

Re: Cooling Problem
I had just enought room that I luckly did not have to remove the TB. Everything went well and tested fine. Now to see how it temps up during the drive home.
