Retro Hilux
I have a soft spot for the early 80's rounded Toyota Hiulx/Pickup, so I've started working on Aoshima's version.
Its to be a workshop hauler/demo car. Its going to be mostly stock, with a bit of added detail. Chassis built, wheels and trim test fitted. Wheels are Aoshima Longchamp XR4 stretchwalls. ![]() Here I've cut the tailgate off the tailgate/rollpan moulding, rollpan has been widened with 0.5mm styrene to make it a snug fit in the rear aperture of the bed. I have since finished making the tailgate open and shut on two small pins of styrene rod running in slots under the bed surface. ![]() ![]() I've started making some items for its "load"; I built this toolbox from photos of a Craftsman brand 6 drawer chest, but deleted one of the large drawers, its composed wholly of sheet styrene. The two large lower drawers open and close, but I found clearances too tight to build an acceptable runner setup for the 3 smaller ones at the top. ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm also building a S20 from a Tamiya KPGC10 GT-R kit which will reside in the bed on a balsa wood pallet/skid. Waiting on some detail parts for that. This is going to be largely box stock, though there are a number of body defects to sort out (sinkholes, flash etc, looks like a very old mould).

Re: Retro Hilux
WOW, I like those old school trucks. And from the looks of your toolbox this is going to be one great build! Keep it coming!
