Re: hey guys i'm back.... and i need a new Alternator

You need to buy the proper amperage alternator that came with the car from the factory. It won't work properly if you have the wrong amp alternator. Where are you looking to buy this from?

Yeah get the 85....your car wont need the 105...and then you run the risk of overcharging your battery or possibly damaging the electrical systems...

I work at autozone. Can't tell you how many times people come back if they get the wrong amp alternator.

Re: hey guys i'm back.... and i need a new Alternator

you can use any alternator as long as its made for that model? try www.autozone.com or www.advanceautoparts.com there is a reason why autozone has a computer. I put a 105 amp alternator in my 94 cavalier rs and works fine with my 180 watt stereo. the higher the amps the longer it'll last! If you have a 180 or 200 watt stereo like I have,i'd go with the 105 amp. Mine has a lifetime warranty!

You made the right choice! I got a 105 amp in my 94 cavalier rs since i got a 180 watt stereo! Does yours have the lifetime warranty like mine does?
