PA electrical problem

I have a '94 Park Avenue that discharges in park after idling for about 5 minutes and drive when it comes to a complete stop and acts like it wants to stall. Has new battery, alternator, and battery cables and still acts up. Runs great on the highway, except it seems to be running at a higher RPM than normal. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what would cause this. Thanks.

Re: PA electrical problem

Welcome to AF!!

Could be a few things.

Your post says you have replaced the likely suspects.
Keep in mind a new replacement can fail also.
It's not a far possibility that a battery short can ruin an alternator or a battery that fails and opens when warm fails to charge.

So my first suggestions start in reverse.

the alternator small wire is bad or corroded.
the idler wheel is weak.
there is a short to ground.
the alternator to battery large wire is bad or corroded. (replaced)
the battery is bad. (replaced)
the alternator is bad. (replaced)

Checkthe voltages.

Looking further.
Check the engine's ability to properly idle.
Spark Plugs, wires, etc.
Idle air controller is dirty.

Good Luck
