Hi,
I was wondering if someone would point me as to what is wrong with my van. I noticed that the van was leaking antifreeze and noticed that the leak seemed to be coming from the lower part of the engine gasket, I was hoping that it would be a quick fix ie. a cracked hose but my instincts tell me that it may be a blown head gasket? The weather in NH the last month has been very cold and maybe this contributed to the problem? Has this ever happened to any members before and how much would this problem be roughly to fix? I would imagine most of the cost would be in labor. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: 2000 Chrysler T&C coolant leak
I assume this means you are talking about the head gasket. If so, then do you need to add antifreeze? Pull the engine dipstick. Is there "foamy" oily stuff? If the answer is "no" to these questions, then I would say that it is possible that the coolant from the head gasket is simply because it's so cold right now. The aluminum cools down so much that it's making your head gasket "loose". A simple re torque of your head gasket might solve the problem. Otherwise, wait until it's warm and see if the problem persists. It might be wise to not worry about it too much.
