19s or 20s???

im going to buy rims for my 98 camaro rs and im having trouble deciding what size. i dont want to lower it but i want to fill the wheel well.. ive seen 20s on some camaros but not to sure if i like the low low profile tires that come with them. leading towards 19s but then im thinking they wont be big enough. some feedback on rim sizes on your rides would be great. thanks

17's.

I am not a big fan of anything else on the F-Body's.
Some 18's look good though.

Re: 19s or 20s???

18's are the max on an f-body for me. Anything bigger belongs on an escalade.

Re: 19s or 20s???

17's are a good all around size. gives you the look of a larger rim and you can run tires with a decent sidewall which is good for handling. 18's are the biggest i would go on an f-body to keep things looking proportional.

Re: 19s or 20s???

If i were to go bigger than stock it'd be 17, they look the best IMO.

But the only aftermarket wheels I have are 15s

Re: 19s or 20s???

here is a prime example why you dont go bigger than 18's on a 4th gen:

I thought the larger sidewall was worse for handling but gave a more comfortable ride?

Re: 19s or 20s???

shoulda put it like this, 17 would give you good handling while still giving you decent ride quality. 18's may handle a little better but the lower profile the tire is, the harsher the ride.

Yeah I know what you mean.. To my friend let me be clear.

STOP don't do that. Get no more than 18's for a better idea this should be your size because it offer the best of both world. Front 18" high with 9.5 width rims with some 275-35-18 tires. This will give great cornering and handling. For the back get 18s and 10.5 rims. Now here come the good stuff you could either put up to 310-35-18 for awesome take off or if your feeling cheap could go for the same as in front or anything in between, just remember your are driving a sport car a legend (to be reborn), If what you want is high quality rims and have money to spend on beatiful rims for a camaro let me know I'll give you a website.
