'96 Taurus cooling fan is always on

Hi everyone,
The cooling fan of my car is always running, even if the engine off and the iginition key in lock position. I have located the fuse. The fan is off when take the fuse out. What could be the cause of this weird think?
Thanks.

Re: '96 Taurus cooling fan is always on

Your '96 Taurus has the Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM) which controls the cooling fans as well as a few other items. The relay for the cooling fans is contained within this module.

If you verify that the air conditioner and defroster is not turned on (this will activate the cooling fans) then you'll need to check the signal to the cooling fan relay within the CCRM. Pin 17 is the control for the high speed cooling fan relay (active low) and pin 14 controls a solid state device which in turn controls the low speed fan.

Is there is no drive to pins 14 or 17, but the fan continues to run, then you may have a stuck relay internal to the CCRM.
