speed sensor
Hey everybody, O.k. I have a '92 Ford Escort Lx and the speed sensor is broken. I took it to a mechanic the other day and he said that it was jammed, and corroded. He tried to get it out for a hour and a half. It didn't come out. Anybody have any ideas on how to get it out??? Also if anyone has a picture of where it is located it would be appreciated. Please send them. |

the two things you could damage (unless you break it off inside the transmission!) are the transmission surface/seal, or the sensor itself. a new sensor is about 25 bucks at autozone (i replaced a leaky one once) and i imagine you could fix a scored or dented seal surface with gasket sealer. not a big deal given you only open those things up once a year. but what do i know.. |
