dashlights out...
Hello,
Ever since buying my 82 Mustang years back, I never fixed the dashlights. They've never worked since I owned it. I pulled the dash apart and checked the bulbs, but they were good. Checked fuses, good. What else is there to check (wiring?) or is there an easy electrical test to give me an idea about what is causing this? I'm not too handy with electrical issues. Thanks. |

Re: dashlights out...
Try looking at the light switch. The variable resistor in the switch may be bad, or dirty. Try getting some Radio Shack electrical contact cleaner, with the little tube and soak down the inside of the switch (disconnect the car battery first!!), allow it to dry and then see if it works.

Re: dashlights out...
Thanks for the hint Rat. I didn't think about the switch. When I get a chance, I'm just going to get a new one, they're cheap. We'll see if it does the trick and I have a feeling it just may.
Appreciate it. |
