Red Warning Brake Light

I have a 2001 GA SE, and had the BRAKE LIGHT lit up in my dash for quite a while and of course the Cruise Control wouldn't work. Wasn't the e-brake, level sensor or low brake fluid or any thing I could find on the web, or my Haynes. The dealer wouldn't give me advice when I took it in for a recall. Last night I was again looking at my brake fluid reservoir and decided to semi-drain and add some clean fluid. When I noticed something at the bottom was movable so I poked it out and noticed it was some type of floater with a little magnet at the bottom. I refilled with fresh fluid and put the floater back in making sure it didn't float down. BINGO!!! my BRAKE LIGHT went OFF!! That's how the brake level sensor gets triggered. Of all the cars I have owned never did I see this piece in there. This drove me!!! I just thought I'd share this with you in case anyone ever gets this problem.
