Question 97 Limo A/C

I drive a 1997 Town Car Limo. It is blowing warm air front and back when the a/c is on. The owner had the system serviced about 2 years ago at the dealer. It worked good for a while. Last year he had a mechanic service it again and he put some kind of "stop leak" in it too. It still doesnt blow cold air (not that I need it this time of year up here, but summer will be coming). Anybody have any ideas I can check out>> I already checked the pressure.

Turn on the A/C to 60 degrees on MAX A/C with the fan on full blast with the car running. open up the hood and look at the A/C Compressor and see if it cycles. If it is cycling for very short periods of time (for example, the compressor comes on for a few seconds, shuts off for a few seconds, and then repeats this) then there is very low or no refrigerent in the system. if the compressor does not turn on at all, then the compressor may be bad, or it could even be the control unit inside the car.

When you are checking this problem, how warm is it outside? Sometimes when it is very cold the compressor will not come on at all. if it is very cold out, put the A/C down to 60 degrees and put the climate control on DEFROST. this should force the compressor to come on. then check for the things i mentioned above. hope this helps.
