I have a 95 lumina Apv and the passenger door handle keeps popping the bar out of place. It looks to me like the bar is shorter on the passenger side then it is on the driver side. Is it??? Also i seen on the inside of the door the handle has the bar located at the very top. Where its cliped in. That didnt seem right either because when you pull on the handle theres a gap in the distance where the handle starts to open the door.
Anybody got any hints here?? Thanks! James |

Re: my ?? is about the passenger Door Handle
I had the exact same thing. Go to your nearest Chevy dealer and tell them what is happening. They will give you this little plastic adapter to put on the rods and that will keep it from falliing apart again. My mechanic told me about this about 4 years ago.

Re: my ?? is about the passenger Door Handle
The Chevy dealer I went to knew exactly what I was talking about. The guy walked into the body shop, came out with three of them and didn't charge me anything for them.

Also make sure the handle is securely bolted to the door.
I recently had a problem where the bolt securing the bottom of the handle was loose and this allowed enough play in the handle that the rod popped out. It was an easy fix but involved removing the door card and jamming my hand inside the door frame.
