ticket for missing plate
so i just bought a new car and had transferred the plate over to the new car from my old car. thing is, i rent an apartment and have no private parking so i left the old car without plates parked in the streets. couple days later, i see a ticket for missing plate. what can i do in this situation? i need time to find a buyer and there's no place to keep the old car. this is in new york city btw. any ideas?

As far as the ticket, I think they have you dead to rights...no tags. I'd consider just paying that.
As far as a quick sale on your car, check out www.carmax.com They'll pay cash for any car on the spot. The closest one for you is in Hartford, CT.
