Re: Where to get PE sets
I've been looking for photo etch harnesses and decals to try on medical tape for some seat belts. Your profile looks misleading. Are you from New Hampshire or the Philippines? I'm in the U.S. and have been having a hard time finding shops that sell what I'm looking for. HLJ and Hiro have some interesting items but they are overseas and just to play it safe I avoid ordering from overseas stores.
It all depends on what you're looking for. I'd suggest you pick up your phone book and calling the LHS in your area. Detail Master makes photo etch. You can also try Hiro's website, HLJ, and a few other model websites to compare prices and go from there.

Although I live in Taiwan... The only down-side of ordering abroad is the shipping costs, but, if I can't get it here in Taiwan I order online. As Stevenoble stated... hiroboy's (Steve also) store has the best service that I know of. Ships fast and arrives in 5-7 working days. If you're really worried about losing the shipment in the mail (it has happened to me before), just make sure that you get the insurance if available. Just a quick note though, I've ordered modeling items from all over the world (about 2 to 5 times a year for the past decade) and only have that one shipment get lost.HTH, Steve (ain't it a common name )

Re: Where to get PE sets
#1. I dont own a C.C. or any online accounts such as paypal. All I have is debit and im not sure if overseas store accept that type of payment. Then it could get riskier since debit goes directly to take $$ out of your bank account and if any problems should arrise my ability to settle the problem is limited because the store is in another country with different laws. Then shipping from within the country is a bit cheaper than some stores overseas. I'm just trying to play it safe and avoid problems and lossing what little money I already have.
My options are becoming limited now that best1hobby (one of my LHS) has closed. They carried a lot of imported Aoshima, Tamiya, Fujimi kits, as well as carbon fiber decal sheets, resin body kits, photo etch 4 point harnesses, etc. I'm looking for those "sabelt", "willans" decals and the belt equipment right now, and I'm actually thinking of opening some kind of online account such as paypal because it looks like I wont have any other choice but to shop from an overseas company. I'm also getting annoyed at looking at my model sitting there, nothing happening to it, while I'm searching the internet for these items. Here in the U.S. ive seen one store carry one thing (example: harness equipment) but be out of stock with the other, or they just dont carry it at all (example: sabelt, boss, sparco decals). Hiro has some very nice items i'd like to try out but last I checked he was out of stock with one item but had the other.

Re: Where to get PE sets
I have a debit card issued by a certain American bank, and it's got VISA logo on it, so I can use it wherever VISA is accepted. And so far, I have never had any problem using my debit card as a pseudo credit card to order goods from any Japanese book and hobby stores that deal with foreign customers. Each usage initiates two transactions, first to simply check the balance (which will be refunded in 2-3 days), and second to finalize the purchase. Sometimes it takes 3-4 weeks to compete one purchase, but at least I have a convenience of ordering directly from Japan, using my American debit card. (I also used the same debit card to order books from Amazon UK.)
It failed once when I tried to buy something from a strictly Japanese online store, but Office Depot doesn't take my Japanese credit card either, so I think it depends on how international / domestic each store is. I've heard some horrible stories about Paypal before, but I've been with Paypal for more than 5 years, and I've never had any trouble with them. Ordering from stores like Rainbow Ten is very fast and easy if you use Paypal. If you are skeptical, you might want to open a new bank account just for online shopping, and link that to your Paypal account. I have four bank accounts for various purposes. |

Mediamix is my favorite store for PE. Cheap shipping ($1 or $2) and good price

Re: Where to get PE sets
I have a few questions regarding the seat belt harnesses sold by HLJ and MediaMix. I hope someone that has used the following set will help me out.
I'm looking at the set made by Acu-stion. I like it because of the fact that it offer plenty of decals for future use with other model seats. However, my question is: Is this set a 4 or 6 point harness set? And, im taking a guess that the photo etch parts are only enough for one set of seats? My other question is in regards to Scale Motorsport harness hardware. Again, is this set a 4 or 6 point harness? HLJ and MediaMix's description indicate that it "Comes with two different photoetched set harness hardware designs." Does that mean you choose what parts to use and which will be left unused, or do they provide enough to build two sets of seats? Are they that generous or ?Finally, I've searched through all the websites I could think of as well as find being mentioned on this website and it looks like just about all of them are out of stock with their seat belt equipment, and they've been out of stock for a while now. Hiroboy has a set of harness and fasteners made by MSM Creation that look sweet but have been unavailable for a while. Does anyone know why so many sites are out or have a low supply? Thanks to everyone who can offer any information on these products
