Is a 1995 Aurora A good Buy??

Im looking at buying a 95 aurora with 100,000 miles on it was wondering if these cars have alot of issues that come up on alot of the cars..Basicly are they known for certain problems. thanks

Rora is magnificent, but requires money and some auto knowledge.... Main thing to be afraid of - any engine block job....

Better have a couple of gold bricks. In my opinion, I would look for a 98. Even then, you will have problems. Once I got through all mine $5000.00 worth, the car is great, one of the best rides I've ever owned. They just have problems and it is hard as hell to work on.

The 95 is OK I have 2.. The problems ya get into mostly are diagonostics.. The Scan II tool does not work with the 95 but does with all years after that.
I have 130,000 on one and just developed a crank sensor issue. My son has one that has 160k and it's still running... I think I'd go for a 98 or 99 with lower miles..

Whatever You Do, Do Not, And I Repeat, Do Not Buy A 95 Aurora!!!!!!!!! I Gaurantee You Will Have More Problems Than You Know What To Do With!....i Woudl Stay Away From Older Gm's Period

I bought a 98 back in July 2007 from the second owner for 1000 thousand dollars (124K miles). I received a bundle of repair receipts with the car. Repairs included: coil packs, alternator, starter, radiator, power seat motors, computer module & a quite a bit of typical maintenance stuff. I've put 8K miles on it & all I've done is replace two tires & patch a fuel line leak. Rides nice, starts right up & I get about 22 MPG overall (mostly HWY).

I have just put my car on the road and wouldnt you know it the waterpump let go. then the lights started flickering dont get me wrong i still love my car what can you expect from a 95 aurora with 219,000

i want to disagree with some of the opinions to stay away from the 95's.i have seen several 95's with close to 200,000 miles and still running like new.my neighbor has a 95 with 160,000 miles and EVERYTHING on the car is still original (radiator, fuel pump ,water pump,even the spark plugs) it's more important who owned the car and how it was maintained rather then the year.you also have to factor in how much your able to buy the vehicle for.i do agree that these cars are not the easiest to work on and can be down right difficult to diagnose.my advice is, if you find a aurora thats been well maintained at a fair price BUY IT.
