1996 Camry shop manual
We purchased a 1996 Camry wagon last fall. It's in nice condition with under 60K and we would like to take good care of it as previous owner. Any suggestions on a good shop manual? Any suggestions on maintenance at 60K? Will the timing belt need to be changed even though the mileage is low? I would like to do a brake job myself. Are brakes easy to do on a car like this? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 1996 Camry shop manual
There is a generation 3 (1992-1996) Toyota factory service manual stickied here that is available for free downloading:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=497839 As far as the timing belt is concerned, it is due for changing at 60,000 miles. Brakes are pretty easy to do, but if this is the first time you are doing any brake work, I would suggest having someone with some experience in doing brakes help you with the job. Mike |

Re: 1996 Camry shop manual
Thanks Mike! I've always wanted to try and do a brake job. Guess I should leave it to the pros.

Re: 1996 Camry shop manual
do the brakes yourself, follow directions in your shop manual and do one side at a time. That was you have the other side to look at for reference on how things should go back together. You will have a lot of self satisfaction when you've finished the project.
