Adding power locks/keyless to Aveo hatchback

I know that aftermarket power door lock actuators with keyless boxes/remotes can be bought pretty cheap but how would I go about getting the hatchback lock to work with it? I imagine a regular door actuator wouldn't work, but correct me if I'm wrong. Note that I only want the hatch to lock/unlock at the same time of the doors; I don't want/need a hatch popup. Aveo hatch owners will know what I'm talking about as turning the key on the hatch doesn't open it, just locks/unlocks.

Power locks do nothing to deter theft..don't bother even locking the doors...it will not stop anything at all. Save your money and the expense.

actuators are about $10bucks a peice.

It cost me about $350 to get all the doors, remote trunk release, and remote start done on my 2000 cavalier that had power nothing to begin with.

Yeah for the most part you can get decent actuators for next to nothing. The keyless remote isn't that hard either. Now, I'm not sure on your hatch itself. I've never done one of these cars yet but normally, yes you'd use just a regular actuator.

Re: Adding power locks/keyless to Aveo hatchback

The mechanism of the hatch is almost the same as the sedan, so I think using aftermarket locks and remote that has the trunk popper is compatible to use on the hatch. The hatch popper differs from the power door locks, they don't pop up like the locks when you turn on your contact switch. To pop the hatch you still have to pull up the knob under your seat, or if your aftermarket remote have the "hatch pop-up button".
