How much gain in HP from an AEM CAI?

I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX. I was thinking that the AEM CAI I have only adds 5 HP at the most, but I was reading in Honda Tuning that they installed different intakes on the new RSX type-s, and the AEM CAI gave the biggest gain at 20.7 HP and 5.3 lbs of torque. I know it's different on this car, but how much gain am I getting on mine?

...that's laughable. ON a STOCK engine...you will not see more than a 2-3 HP gain with ANY cai. It is not until you have done considerable modifications to your vehicle that you'll begin to see any noticeable gains intake. You'll like the sound...that's about it.

i already have had it installed for over 6 months. just wondering.

there must have been other mods on the RSX in the mag to have that big of a gain.

my guess would be about 3 hp to your car, and what they show in magazines about that kind of stuff is stretched out a little bit.

THe cai will have a lot more impact if you were to get, port polis head, exhast- header to catback, bored throttle body, and all that good stuff. Those parts put on by them selves add power, but all of them combined forms Captin Planet

you should still be able to tell a difference with your CAI, it should have better throttle response.

it's more like a 5-7hp gain on a stock engine.

I just ordered my AEM Cold Air Intake today. It's gonna be blue because silver and blue is gonna be my color scheme.

I hope to see around 5 horses from it.

Next will be my new Tanabe Racing Medalion Exhaust. I can't wait.

Good Luck with your CAI.
