pieces came out of my transmission :(

ok so im posting this for my friend. and heres his story and a picture to go along

well i was late for school so i backed out of the driveway. I made sure i completely stopped before i put it in drive. I stepped on the gas and the street was wet from melting snow so just the driverside tire broke out. the rpm hit about 4000 and thats when all hell broke loose..lol. the car just redlined in everygear so i put it in park and thats when it started grinding.
So what do you think?

wait......whos car was it, yours or you friend, cause in your sig it says Grand Prix GTP, did you both have a GTP, but yea....not sure about your problem someone more expierenced will answer your question, good luck

pieces don't come out of your tranny, it's a closed system. that's a pinion gear. check your starter.

the what would cause the redlining and the grinding when in park?? i understand its a closed system ill ask if he took the pan off or if they shot through the cheap aluminum casing

the bottom right hand corner pieces definetly look to be part of a gear almost looks the like pinion gear with the pinion shaft to the left. but i dunno

i talked to him and he said he found those piece laying on the ground with a puddle of trans fluid. so they actualy shot out of the transmission

seven quarts would be a little more than a puddle. get underneath and look for holes in the pan or casing. if they are tranny gears you're screwed.

The pieces are the "spider" gears and shaft out of the differential. Troy1's statement is correct. Except that your tranny case is now JUNK!

If I read right he is saying that is a piece of the differential gear. It was broken by too many burnouts, powerbrakes, neutral drops.

Translation: Differential is bad (see parts above on ground ). Usually a lot of burnouts or getting it stuck will do this. The case is more than likely shot but you might get lucky and it will be good.

Got it. I guess JB Weld is out of the question, LOL. Sorry, don't mean to laugh at another's misfortune. That's quite a breakdown to come out onto the street like that!
