PA 92 doens't fire all cylinders

I was driving my PA (non supercharged) down the street today when there was suddenly a huge drop in performance. Stopping at the next trafficlight i also noticed idle was horrible rough. It seems like it wont fire one or two cylinders.
I have the old model with the magnavox coilpack and replaced it early last year when one of the coils died. I bought an additional one as spare and switched it today, however this time there was no change at all. Sparkplugs seem to be ok and i hadn't much time to look after it today, since it was raining quite much but i will look into it again tomorrow and i am kind of stuck here what the problem may be. There is an additional electronicbox under the coilpack. Could this be cause of the problem? How can it be checked?

Stay dry and check it dry.. Some of these get wet and fail.

I think the ignition module can be checked at a parts outlet.
But I would suspect another area as the problem if it runs bad dry.
Some have taken them off and heated them up with a blow dryer or something that gets it fairly warm.

Do you know which cylinders it's not running on?..
Could it be the injectors?..
Could it be the wires?
When you checked the plugs did read them and did they tell you which one isn't firing?
And of course it still could be a plug.

Usually the prime supect in damp conditions. Could be old carcked plugs too.

You chould check the spark if you pull the plugs.
Spread the gap on a test plug to 3/8 inch and try it on all cylinders.
A bad coil or wire might show up then.

Following your advice i checked for spark on all cylinders. i got nothing on the once connected to the frist ignition coil. wires and sparkplugs are less then a year old (destroyed one wire while testing, however...).
I replaced the coil - Still same result - I guess that leaves it to the ignition module. I checked it already and it seems to have a hole inside...

That is just the place where one of the connectors lies. It seems it got shorted somehow and died...

Well, if one section of coils is not firing and it has been replaced to no cure, I would suspect the ignition module.

I had the same problem with my 92 Park Ave. I replaced the computer (under the dash) and the problem was gone. The computers have cold soldered connections and they go bad after a while.
