I have a 99 Ranger with the 4.0. I want to disconnect the ABS. How do I do it?

If the ranger has two separate components then your in luck. The only draw back of pulling the cable is that the ABS light will turn on. Best Regards, Stan

This really isn't shedding any light on my problem. I don't really know how the dumb thing works.

Re: Abs
Why would you want to disconnect the ABS, if I may ask. They serve a purpose especially in areas where it often rains or snows. I also have a '99 Ranger 4.0L and the ABS sensor is located right above where your universal joint enters the differential housing. It senses the axle speed and the module compares it to the speedometer to produce the pumping brake action during skid situation. If you disconnect the ABS, you will have problem with your speedometer reading at lower speeds.
