Question how to use airbrush

hello all, i have been visiting the forum for a while and all the help, hints, ideas and pics have been spectacular! i just bought an aztek a320 airbrush. i am looking for help making metallic paints, the process of using an airbush as opposed to a rattlecan, how to make the model gloss after using the airbrush and any other relevent information. i have read the faq, but it didn't answer fully what i need to know.

thanks in advance for all the replies and keep up the work, i am truely impressed. here are some of mine, although the pics suck.

thanks

You have to cover the metallic paint with a coat (or four ) or clear - no matter what Warren says!!!! No need to polish before that. Just spray the coats of paint as good as you can and let it be. Wait for a while (depending on the type of paint used) and coat with the clear. After that (and aother period of waiting) polish the clear to achieve that glossy shine you desire. Hope this helps (I'm sure it does! )

really all anyways can say to that is............OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD read the FAQ. but its all a matter of personal preference and funds, airbrush setups are constlly. all I know is that now that I have a airbrush I would never go back to painting chassis and interiors by hand.

also, to make silver shine you need to use a clear coat, basicly its like a layer of glass over the paint which makes it shine no matter what......... silvers just dont shine like other paints.

however, on othe rpaints you can polish it, with a rubbing coumpound.

I also suggest that after you clear coat you polish it with a clear coat wax.
