05 Front-end Popping Noise
My burb has been making a popping/grinding sound on the drivers side front for about 6 months now. It feels like two pieces of metal bumping or grinding on each other, I can slightly feel it in the steering wheel while I hear it. When driving on a non-smooth road seems to get worse, and when I make left hand turns it is really bad.
I took it to the dealer when I first noticed it and they gave me a bill of good health from my suspension. Then said they didn't hear anything, and didn't check anything else. Could it be brakes? Something in the steering or tie-rods? CV Joint Boots (had one crack on a Ford and made similar sound, only much worse on the Ford)? I'm calling to get it back in and this time they are fixing something to make it stop...just need help figuring out what to tell them. Oh yeah, my Burb has about 26k miles. Thanks |

Re: 05 Front-end Popping Noise
if it does it only on a turn could be a wheel bearing or cv joint if it does it on straight could be wheel bearing.as cv joints usually only make a noise when it is turned.
