Re: clutch slipping

It cost me $845 for a Spec Stage 2+ clutch with the lightweight kit and a Fidanza 9.5lb flywheel (shipped), and around 425 install at a local shop (I am also having him put Royal Purple tranny fluid in and reworking some of the clutch cable linkages to work better with the stronger sprung pressure plate). My clutch was doing the same thing, not all the time, but from time to time it would do that and scare the crap out of me. It is real sloppy from 1-2 and 2-3 gear, and overheats real easy if I ride it at all on a hill.

Re: clutch slipping

My 01 Spyder, was the exact way, i just got done changeing the clutch and fly wheel my self, i put in a spec stage two, with a spec flywheel, parts alone cost me $850, and a weekend of busted knuckles and cuss words, and a new drive axle, cause it was stuck in the wheel hub, and we mushroomed the threads, crappy, but my fly wheel was glazed over, almost as smooth as glass and looked like a mirror, if yours is already slippin i would replace it as soon as possible, and personally dont put stock equipment back on spend a little extra and get some good stuff, it ll pay off down the road,
