Metra Compatible Wiring Harness - 2004 TB

Question gang, anyone run into a problem yet using the Metra Compatible Wiring Harness for after market stereo's. After I installed my after market unit I noticed a few things that had changed. My fuel gauge light had low voltage going to it, so it would stay light, and also the kicker was that when I opened the car door, the radio would stay on and not turn off as it should. finally after turning the car on and closing the door it finally went off. I took the radio out and reinstallaed the factory system and everyhting was fine again. I want to try this again, however, my thinking is it may be the brand of the wire harness. I bought it at Wal-mart since it was only $50.00. The make is scosche.

Any help or advice is greatly appricated.
