Thumbs down Z4 Pricy For The Same Engine

MY RECENT OBSERVATIONS ON THE PRICES RELEASED this week on the z4.

2003 Z4 roadster 2.5i 184@6000 $40,430 Oct 03, 2002
MY INVOICE $35, 605 FOR A SIMILAR EQUIPPED 2000 2.5
$4,825.00 MORE FOR THE Z4.
2003 Z4 roadster 3.0iB 225@5900 $44,770 Oct 03, 2002

YOU ARE LOOKING AT A 13.55% PRICE INCREASE AND NOT MORE HORSE POWER. IT LOOKS LIKE THE Z4 WILL BE 100-200 POUNDS HEAVIER. AND IF YOU LOAD THE TRUCK, THERE WILL BE ABOUT TWICE THE LOAD AS A Z3 WITH THE SMALLER TRUNK.
HONDA S-2000 240 @ 8300 Total MSRP $33,060.00

MY LEASE RATE ON THE 2000 2.5 Z3 WAS $445.90 PER MONTH WITH $26.78 IN TAX.

I WAS JUST QUOTED $438.00 PER MONTH NO MONEY DOWN 36 MONTH LEASE WITH 45,000 MILES ON A NEW 2003 S-2000. COMPARED TO THE Z4 3.0 I HAVE 15 MORE HORSE POWER AT $11,710.00 LESS COST? WHICH WOULD YOU BUY OR LEASE? YES BMW WILL HAVE A SURGE OF THE GOTTA BUYERS THE FIRST YEAR, BUT OVER THE LONG RUN BMW MAY HAVE FOUND THEY OVER PRICED THE Z4.

BESIDES THE COST & NO MORE HORSE POWER, THE COLORS SELECTION IS VERY LIMITED. I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING THAT A BRIGHT RED Z4 WAS SHOWN ON E-BAY WITH A BLACK GRILL. IT IS NOT OFFERED ON YOUR WEB. IT LOOKS LIKE BMW IS PLAYING AROUND WITH THE FRONT GRILLS.

PS: I also FIND IT INTERESTING THAT BMW DOES NOT USE THE HONDA S-2000 IN COMPARISON. I AM SURE HONDA WILL UPDATE THEIR WEB SITE TO INCLUDE THE Z4. HONDA DOES NOT NICKEL AND DIME YOU WITH OPTIONS. FREE POWER ROOF, FREE FOG LIGHTS FREE High-Intensity Discharge Headlights (HID)s & ETC.

Buy the S2000. It has plenty of "torque" to be a daily driver, unlike some people may say. It's a great car, gets great looks all the time, and many people mistake it for the Z3 or the Boxster S. Above all that, with equally skilled drivers, the S2000 is faster in the 1/4 mile and on the road course.

Concerning the price of the Z4

The Z4 I just order was 33,100. (2.5i)
The 3.0i version would have been 40,400.

MINE HAD POWER ROOF, HEATED SEATS, ONBOARD COMPUTER. I HAD ALMOST EVEYTHING BUT AUTOMATIC TRANS OR CD DISC CHANGER.
THE PRICE IS WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REPLACE MINE. IF I WENT TO THE 3.0 IT WOULD COST OVER $11,000 MORE THAN THE 2003 s-2000 WHICH HAS 240HP.

How could you ever compare a little cheapo honda to a gorgeous bmw???!!! How dare you! The S200 is nice...but plain and designed with no imagination. Yes, bmw used A LOT of imagination with the Z4 but it came out beautiful and is in a league of it's own...nowhere near the an S200. w/e...
