How do I fix the Vents?

I have an 03 Cav and the heater/AC is stuck on all ports, no matter what you have it set for. Takes forever for that sucker to defrost in the mornings, lol. This is something a dealer tech told me happens to Cavs all the time. He said there is a trick you can do to fix them. Anybody know what he is talking about? He said they usually charge about 160 bucks to do it but with a little research on the internet, I could probably do it myself with just a few hours of work.

Re: How do I fix the Vents?

well in most cavys the heater and a/c resistor get fried and needs replaced, mine did and it cost $35 to get the part from the dealership and me and my dad put it in ourselvs in like 10 minutes. the part is located under the dash on the passenger side of the car and just unplugs and pulls out.

I think you refering to the blower resistor ,that`s for fan speeds only. If I am reading this correctly the poster has a problem with the selector air coming out of all ports and not being able to switch to defrost or floor ete,not fan speed.

Re: How do I fix the Vents?

Why did this thread get moved here? I just tracked it down.

The air blows out all vents, but mostly just stuck on vent. I can't change it.
