Re: mr2 turbo wastegate

The other hose goes to the T-VSV (turbo vacuum switch valve).

It controls boost. If everything is operating okay (weather is good, the engine is n't seeing knock, etc.) the ECU leaves the T-VSV open so it vents a little bit of boost so you can make up to 11.8 psi of boost.

If the ECU sees something it does not like, it closes the T-VSV and all of your boost goes to opening the wastegate which will limit you to 7-8 psi.

Re: mr2 turbo wastegate

since im not using the mr2's ct26 in an mr2 application.. my ecu doesn't have TSVS control, so would i be ok with blocking it off and just installing a boost controller so im not limited at 7-8 psi?
