Over-heating Engine

Engine overheat under load and radiator fan runs normally, but blowing no hot sir. Radiator seems to be not too hot. It happened some times. If I keep on driving, the low oil pressure, light and buzzer come on and if I bring it at a lower gear, the light and buzzer goes off, otherwise car runs and drive OK. What might be the reason of this overheating and how can it be fixed up ?

Re: Over-heating Engine

O.K., I am going to take a wild crack at this. From what I can gather, your temp gauge goes into the red, but your radiator seems cool. If that is the case, it is probably a bad sensor. There are two, by the way, one for your fan and one for your gauge. As for your oil pressure light, it sounds like your oil pump. You need to get an inline oil pressure gauge and check your oil pressure. Do this before you replace your oil pump.

You are getting ready to really f-something up!

The block is getting too hot and in turn is overheating causing the oil light buzzer to come for high oil temp and I bet if you look steam is coming out from the valve cover around the gasket.

First check all the hoses if its a sealed radiator like mine check the upper hose, see if its hot.
Second check the hoses that go into heater core(firewall) see if both are hot.
Third take the thermostat out- boil some water and put a meat thermomater in it when around 180 f* drop the thermo in it it should start to move around 180-190 degrees if not change the thermo.
Fourth when the thermo is out flush everything stick a hose in it and flusch every section.

It could be the sensor going bad but if its not idleing funny or running bad then do that last they are cheap. I still cant believe its the sensor they dont cause overheating.

The fith and final problem solving point get ready this is going to hurt....
Head gasket. My car was doing the same thing I did all the top things and this is what I found.

Water jackets were cloged and head gasket was bad. So like I said its going to hurt.....Your wallet.

It may be a good time for an engine swap thats what i'm doing now!

Re: Over-heating Engine

Your water pump may be bad. I had an impeller come loose and while it seemed to be working, the water wasn't circulating. If your RPM's drop below 2000, the oil alarm buzzer goes off. You may want to check the screen on your oil pump. Either your oil is heating up to much because of lack of engine cooling and it's causing your pressure to drop, or your oil isn't pumping and it's causing the temperature to go up. Either way, don't drive until you get this fixed. Check the oil pressure as stated above. Also make sure your water channels are clear, remove the water pump or hoses and flush water through the engine to make sure it's not blocked. Disconnect the outlet hose from the water pump, rotate the pump by hand and make sure it's pumping.

I agree oil pumps are cheap too I just picked one up, brand new for my 2.0l 16v project with the pick -up and screen for 60 bucks and its easy to change out.

Start with the easy stuff first like flushing everything with the thermo out to see if anything is clogged. then work up to the water pump and oil pump.
