f-150 problem

I have a 89 f-150 stick shift that runs perfect except when i drive it will not get over 35 mph.. i have no idea what it could be... any help would be greatly appreciated ... ryan

I would be looking at the fuel filter,general tune up,and possibly accelerator linkage.

It's a hassle, but you might also have a timing chain going out. If the T/C jumps time, that will reduce your power right away, yet still idle reasonably well. How's it pull in lower gears? If it's good there then falls on it's face in high gear or O/D, I say to check the T/C or IGN Timing.

can you elaborte on the problems it has when you exceed 35mph?
