Re: Audi Quattro convert. to Audi S1

I'm with you, no doubt !

this will be one of the hardest and most ambitious project I've seen...

Many things to correct, especially the body and (almost?) all its panels and doors.

If can serve to anything or help you, feel free to ask.

Phil

Re: Audi Quattro convert. to Audi S1

the pics, yes the pics !!!

one thing I thought about the S1, I don't know if you already thought to that too:
The S1 has front engine but rear radiators, so you'll have to build the fluid links that run through the car.

There are two "tubes" ?? - french word is durites - one above the other running all along the codriver side which are grey and about the same diameter than roll cage tubes.
I noticed that when looking at a picture of the PPHC version and when looking at the inside of the car through the window in a show.

I'm not sure everybody would have thought to that, that's why I prefer saying it there...

Re: Audi Quattro convert. to Audi S1

Todays/yesterdays update.. I have cut the chassis and the body in 2 and then did what had to be done.. and it's now.. a perfect fit with chassis and body

and today.. this one arrived !

the Zexel Nissan Skyline R32 Gr.N racecar

I will probably build it box stock or with some details in it.. and later this week I am hoping to get my Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II Racecar too

Re: Audi Quattro convert. to Audi S1

Nice start so far. I've got the Revell AG version, the old Esci model as I understand it so not as nice as the Tamiya kit, and I want to make the Sport version. Less work than the full S1. The good part about the S1 is it's so boxy you could almost make the fender flares with some balsa wood and a miter box and not have do much shaping LOL

Re: Audi Quattro convert. to Audi S1

Hey Rickard ... I had the same project in mind...I started mine at least 4 months ago...time flies and the bodywork is about 90% done....but the last 10% seems the hardest...part of me doesn't want it to finish ...if you know what I mean lol...
...if you'd like to see mine I'd be happy to upload some pics, but seems that I'm not allowed to post attachments
....I've reached the stage where I need to do some photo etching and to make the speedline wheels...both will be new areas for me. How do you intend to replicate the wheels ?
