Throttle Position Sensor

My TPS has been replaced 3 times now. The latest time about a week or so ago. But it keeps going bad. Sometimes it will be a few weeks before it goes bad, this latest time about a week. The SES comes on and it will idle high. If I shut the van off and restart it, it will correct itself, but the SES will still be on. Sometimes if I am going a short distance and it is idleing high, once the van warms up, it will kick down and correct itself. Sometimes it doesnt do it at all. Any ideas why this keeps going bad? I have had previous electrical issues with this van but it all seemed related the the fuel pump area and I have had that wiring replaced. Thanks for any input. Its a 2000 Venture
