99 windstar 3.8 stalling at lights

my windstar is stalling when idling in park or in drive at a red light. it also bucks like it wants to stall when driving down the road. I have read to check the Idle Air Control and reprogram the Power Control Module. Has anyone seen similar problems and have any solutions? thanks!

Re: 99 windstar 3.8 stalling at lights

The IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is a common culprit in Windstar idle problems. I don't bother replacing it: A quick cleaning with a decent cleaner (I prefer Berryman's) and it smooths right out.

I replace mine. I still have the same issue sometimes similar to the original poster. Was their another step I missed?
