Racing in Virginia Beach, VA

Since I'm stuck out here until August for "C" school how is the racing out here? I brought my 280zx out from Nebraska last week but so far I've been unimpressed just alot of rice and stock Camaros. I think it will get better during the summer but I can't say anything for sure other than that 264 is the worst paved highway on the planet. I did race a late model GN the other day and I wasn't impressed but his car was nice, good looking wheels, lots of stereo and two monitors. I just really hope their I can get in some good racing before I ship to Japan for three years, this may be last time to race anything American for awhile. So is anyone from this area? Also is their a dragstrip around here? I've heard about one up north but can't find a listing for it.

IBL?

Going to Japan, eh? Check out some of the mad tyte Toki() d0rfi70...

Just playing. Anyways, talking about specific locations/cities as such is generally looked down upon in here. You say your being shipped out to Japan. Being sent out as part of the Service? What branch?

I'm Navy, and like I said I'm going to get shipped to Japan in August to be part of CAG 5 Atsugi NAF. I definetly plan to get in some good racing overthere and mark my words I will find a way to bring an R32 into the States even if I have to take the whole damn thing apart and ship it in 1,000 different boxes to different locations I'm bringing the thing home, and an RX-7, and a Silvia, and a 300ZX, and...whatever else I can afford. I dig RHD.

I am in the Navy as well and am in VA Beach. Well before august you will be seeing some fast cars out there. I have seen 3 different C6 Z06s, rediculous camaros, mustangs, a couple turbo hondas, and stuff like that. Be careful too, police are merciless in the VA beach area.

I honestly beleive the only police worse than VA state whips are Nebraska troopers but I'm kinda biased though. I will definetly be careful.

Re: Racing in Virginia Beach, VA

Like BlackGT said, there's some fast cars, they'll be out when the weather gets better. I know of a couple 10sec Lightnings, 10sec C6 Z06, few others. I'm out there every now and again for work, if I'm out there after the weather warms up, I'll have the truck with me Only tracks I know of are in Richmond and one up north, maybe MIR? But none that are local.

I'm not as much up on my Navy lingo as I am with others...

CAG: Combat Air Group? If I'm right (which I'm most likely not)...who needs a fast car when you have a damned Super Hornet...

Re: Racing in Virginia Beach, VA

Us enlisted guys don't fly. Only officers fly. It takes everyone to keep the planes flying though with the ground support and thats the CAG.

I am in total agreement that 264 is the worst paved major road in the entire country.

+1 Gotta be the worst road I've ever driven on, and that's saying a lot considering I used to live in Jersey.
