86 bonneville oil pressure problem

I own a 86 Bonneville with 79,000 miles on it since my last oil change I am having oil pressure problems when I accelerate the pressure goes all the way up when I sit idle it goes to the mid way point what is the problem here I can't figure it out???

Get a mechanical gage on it at the oil sending port on the filter housing and check the actual readings, may just be the sending unit.
