Does anybody have a clue with this check engine light code?
I have an Eclipse GST 1997, and got a check engine light on, with trouble code P1104 (Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid). I have heard that it is because of the stock boost controller is not plugged in, but the thing is I don't have any aftermarket boost controller installed and have never touched the stock boost controller whatsoever. By the way, where does the stock boost controller located? (It would be great if someone is nice enough to take a picture of its location
) So I can check if it is plugged in properly. Also, does this code have anything to do with the MAF?![]() Please help me out guys, the CEL is so freakin annoying... ![]() |

Re: Does anybody have a clue with this check engine light code?
Actually, you are looking for the BCS, or Boost Control Solenoid. The BCS is located on the passenger side frame rail, directly below where the coolant overflow bottle should be. It is held on with one bold, 10mm if I remember correctly (but I never do.
). Anyway, it should have a plug attached to the bottom and 2 vacuum lines. Make sure both vacuum lines are attached and that the harness is still attached. I'll go see if I can find you a picture. EDIT -> Here you go....

Yup...it is on the left hand side of the engine bay I would say it is more underneth the upper intercooler piping on the wall there. You should be able to find it...there is probably a loose vacuum line on there.

Re: Does anybody have a clue with this check engine light code?
Thanks for the help guys~ Is there a chance that the BCS is broken or something? Coz I checked today, and everything "seemed" plugged in, except the BSC is hella dirty. should I take it out and clean it?

Re: Does anybody have a clue with this check engine light code?
Can't hurt to clean the electrical connector, maybe it's all rusty or something. It is possible that the BCS is bad, but I wouldn't go to the dealer to get one, because I've heard they are really expensive.
