Body Shop paint from Plasti-Kote

I am curious has anyone else tried this stuff??? I have, and the results are incredible. I would have posted pictures, but my camera is not working at the moment. But, I can tell you this, I have sprayed it directly on the unprimered body of a test car, did not attack it, dries to the touch in 10 minutes, I can start polishing in about 2 hours. I do not use clear coat, and NOTHING will burn through the paint. It comes in 12 oz. cans and I have spent a small fortune on all the colors I could find. I even drove 45 minutes to get a few colors I could not find in my area. It will give a mirror finish with some patience and work. I will post photos as soon as I get my camera working

Is it this http://www.plastikote.co.uk/ stuff you mean?

Halfords and B&Q and other DIY shops in UK sells it, I've been curious about them before but not tried it - looking forward to your photos, have you tried their chrome and other metal colours?

How many coats you did on your car?

No, that is not it. This product can only be purchased at auto parts stores and auto paint supply stores. As for coats, 2 mist coats, 4 wet coats, sprayed on immediately. No runs or anything.

For us in the US, could you give a link to the product you mentioned on the plati-kote home page? Here is the link: http://www.plasti-kote.com

I, for one, would appreciate it. Thanks!

It's easy to find on their website; you go to US, then automotive products, then vehicle touch up products, where you will find this:

http://www.plastikote.com/plastikote...oduct=bodyshop

And there's a store locator on the page w/the paint. Couldn't be easier, though there's not a good chart to compare colors, seems there aren't many.

Is it an acrylic lacquer or enamel? It looks like it might be good stuff, I did the store locator thing and might check some out soon.
