Re: Please help: 327 bored .060 over

You need to have the cylinder walls "sonic tested" to know for sure, but 327s are generally okay at .060. You need a minimum of .125" on the "thrust" side of the bore.

What are your intentions for using this 327? I can recommend a good power package, but need to know what it's to be used for.

Hi, Is the block at .060 now. If not .060 is just fine, i have a 1966 chevy nova ss with 327 .060 over bore. It runs at 160 temp all day.As for cam, heads, carb, and intake depends on trans and gear. If you wont to you can call me. I build engs.... BOB... 352-438-0305

Re: Please help: 327 bored .060 over

As it happens, we did a 327 for a '64 last year. We used the Comp XS274S cam (solid, flat tappet), Performer RPM "Air Gap" intake, 9.5:1 compression, 650 Holley, 93 octane, 3.73 gears w/BW T-10, 13.80s. No port work on the 461s. Just "hard" exhaust seats and a good valve grind, 1.94/1.50 valves.

The little beast SCREAMS to 7,200 RPM. It may be capable of more, but he won't push it.
