SR20det boost hesitation

hi i resently swapped an sr into my 240, it was fine until this really cold morning i started it but it kind of like hesitated but dissapeared after i left it on for around 5 minutes, then when i started driving it i could feel it hesitating again when its going into boost, i cAN go into about 3psi as long as i dont slam on the pedal hard and keep my rpms at around 3500-4000 then it hesitates, i try not to push it to prevent detonating but i dont know what could be the problem. help will be apreciated

thats kind of a vague description. how cold was it outside when this happened? and what exactly do you mean by hesitates? are you using a stock ignition system or did you switch to a distributor? how full was your gas tank?

stock ignition system, just exhaust and walbro fuel pump, it was about 12 degrees outside when it happened, as it starts going into boost it goes up to around 3-4 psi then it feels like the car falls on its face but then grabs again but kind of hesitates again, i dont want to push it hard because i dont want to risk detonating.

Re: SR20det boost hesitation

well you could do what we do to check for leaks on tires... get a spray bottle.... pour some liquid soap in it and fill it with water. spray everything thats gonna be under pressure(intake, cold pipe, hot pipe, intercooler).. and check everyclamp ( i double clamped everything on mine) run it... boost it... and check for any bubbles on anything you sprayed down.. and spray generously. even check your bov for a leak. also make sure theres not extra air entering the motor thats not read by the MAF
