Radio CODE Retrieval

I am relatively new here and thought I should finally contribute. I did not notice this information here on Radio Code Retrieval so I wanted to add it. It comes from www.radio-code.com , which is more than glad to provide you codes for ~$30 but they provide this possible solution if you do not have the code but the radio is still working. They state that with the key and radio off hold the M button down and then turn the key on, engine off, and turn the radio on. If this works the radio code will be displayed. If power had previously been removed and now the radio is asking for the code you will either have to pay them or go to the dealer with the radio serial (need to remove the radio). Well I tried this on the 93 535i but it did not work. Not exacltyl sure which button they meant by M but I tried Mode (one that shifts bass, treble, fade,etc) and the mileage but neither worked. I also have a Code button but that did not work. Tried various combinations but no good. Hope this trick works for some one. Let me know.
