01 rodeo trans noise?

Hey- I have and 01 rodeo v6, today it started to make a noise that sounds like its coming from the transmission, It sounds like its not all the way out of gear when its in park or neutral but goes away when you put it in gear. When you are driving you can hear a gear noise kinda like reverse gear noise when you are doing 5 to 25 mph and then it goes away. Any Thought??? Thanks

Re: 01 rodeo trans noise?

The trans is sealed on this thing? How and where do you check it? Man that seems dumb, I am sure that there is a way.

Re: 01 rodeo trans noise?

Just got off the phone with the dealer, Needs new trans, covered under warranty, BUT he said it may take 3 WEEKS to get it! Any comments would be helpful, what should I do. 3 weeks are you kidding me.

Re: 01 rodeo trans noise?

you can call st. charles isuzu to see if they have one in stock.

Or you can maybe call up corporate isuzu to see if they will pay for a rental car (or at least pay for half of it)?

Re: 01 rodeo trans noise?

The guys at St Charles Isuzu, have the best prices on OEM parts (free shipping). Ask for Merlin. The purpose of doing this is to see if they have one. If so let them know your dealer is looking for one and put them in contact with them. I do realize you shouldn't be doing the leg work, but if it means you get your ride back sooner that 5 minute call will be worth it.

Re: 01 rodeo trans noise?

Merlin! He had all the info, this is the kind of guy you have working for you. My dealer says that he is waiting for a reply from isuzu as to when the part will be here. I don't understand why this would take more that a day or even a few hours. Your guy merlin says there are 159 in ohio that could be shipped. If I know this why does the dealer not??? This will be a lost day now.
