Brake light problem...

This car is starting to test my patience!!!

I now have no rear brake lights. The brake light under my spioler still works...All other lights work as well ( indicators, hazard, running lights) just no brake lights....as well my Cruise Control stoped working at the same time...I would assume that it is a safety feature due to the brake lights not working ...but then again who knows...I checked fuses under the driver side dash and all seems to be ok....Any ideas...thanks as always.

Re: Brake light problem...

Most likely the brake light switch has failed and that would also affect the cruise control.

Re: Brake light problem...

on my 1998 mystique the part you are talking about sometimes comes loose and will not work correctly have you checked the bulb holders so that you know it is not that!! Then if not try to see if there are some wires loose or off that will do that. Other wise it could be something to do with the wiring harness and that could be bad okay so ask a real mechanic and maybe they can tell you what it is make sure they have worked on mystiques before these cars can be tricky!!
