throttle body mod?

Hi,I was wondering if anyone could tell me what size and brand of throttle body I should use in my 1993 CVPI.I'm installing another engine in her(same 4.6) cuz the original is just tired.I've been told that the throttle body will give me more horses and better mpg.I'm guessing the one on there now is the original and I dont know what size it is or what size I need for best performance.Ive also been a spacer is the way to go.Keep in mind I'm also installing headers if that makes any difference.Any info is greatly appreciated, thanx guys

Re: throttle body mod?

I don't have the link handy, but there's a very good description on how to modify the stock T/B to allow more airflow on (?) the Mustang Owners site. It's not hard to do if you have a Dremel tool and a little mechanical skill.

I Will post the link if I can find it later.

Re: throttle body mod?

Found the link I spoke of above - http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/masair.htm

Again, I say, Do't try this unless you are very comfortable with doing the procedure, and have the tools (the "special torx head tol is available from"AutoZone" for about $5-8, in a folding set). Practice on an old carb or get a stock T/B from salvage in case you screw it up. Good Luck, hope this works!

Re: throttle body mod?

I got another 4.6 out of a 93 Grand Marqui,I have it on a stand right now and have been replacing seals and gaskets and pretty much just cleaning it up and gettin it ready for installation,I got it on Ebay for 250$ with only 59K miles on it,I friggin stole this thing.I'll take sum pix of it and post em if ya want,It looks like a brand new engine, lets just hope it runs like one too =-]
