99 problems

Hey all - i just put a new intake gasket in my gf's 99 malibu (3100). I got it all put together just fine, but when I try to start it up, it barely idles, then it'll fire up to 4000 rpm, then back down to barely idleing, and keep going through this process. It has little backfires also, when it's trying to idle. The only thing I could possibly think of that I might have done wrong is plugged in the injectors backwards (the 1-3-5 injectors hooked up to the 2-4-6 electrical plugs). However, I'm not even sure that this is possible, since the harness wires are specifically lengthed. Does anybody have any suggestions? As far as I can tell, all vacuum/electrical connections are hooked back up. Thanks!

Ok - I found the problem. Even though I've done this changeover 3 times now with no problems, It basically boils down to my "trying to get it done too quickly" toward the end of the project. Oh, and the fact that maybe I had a couple beers too many in me at the time. I looked for over an hour for a solution - forgot to plug in any harnesses, etc. While I was lying in bed I remembered I had a tough time aligning the TB gasket to the plenum. I walked out to the garage at 730 am and whalaa! There it was, half hanging out. Removed the TB and re-aligned the gasket and it now runs like a champ!!! Lesson learned: Be careful about BOTH the small AND large details. Happy motoring!

Oh man, you don't even have to remove the TB on the 3100 VIN J.
