Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

This is defined by terminal E6 on the HVAC programmer unit. If it's connected to ground, the display is in Celsius. If the terminal is open, the display is in Fahrenheit.

This information is for the 94 model, but most probably also applies to the 91 model...

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

Sorry, I don't know the exact location in the 91 model.

In the 94 PA, the HVAC programmer is behind the glove box (if the glove box lid is opened past its stops, the HVAC programmer is accessible). But since the 91 PA has a different glove box because it doesn't have a passenger airbag, it might be at a different place.

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

Isnīt there the difference in the OBD? The models until MY93 have OBD I and the MY94 and up the OBD II. So i think this will not work.

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

94 - mid 96 arent' really OBD II, they are OBD I -hybrid, they use the same type connector but don't function and segregate DTC location area like OBD II.

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

Yeah thats correct. My cars (both 1994) are definitely not OBD-II.
I think the Park Avenue's have been swapped to OBD-II sometime during the 95 model year, not sure though....

I think you can look inside the connector and count the pins on the 94-95 era and see what it is.. Not for sure but think theres less on the OBDI system with the OBDII connector.

The hybrids use a OBD II style connector and are centrally located as mandated for OBD II systems some GM's as early as mid 93 models (I believe, don't qoute me) use the connector. But if you ground what you think would be A to B on them, can damage the BCM on some models.

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

IT's only on 94 - 96 OBD I hybrids. I've never personally done any damage to any myself, but have heard a few 'tales from the field'.

Re: 91 PA Climate Control Display ?

anyone here with a 91 PA who can tell me where to change what in detail?
That would be great.
In Germany are few PA´s, but most of them are the Euroversions with Celsius-Displays.
I have an original US-Modell (...very proud) an they are very rare.
So finding an answer here in Germany would be difficult...
