Enzo Tires

I've noticed something interesting between the Revell Enzo kit and the Tamiya Enzo kit. The tires on the Revell prints "Bridgestone Potenza Scuderia", which is realistic as all the pictures I've seen of the Enzo show that. The Tamiya however, shows "Bridgestone Potenza RE050A." I know that the Enzo does use model RE050A, but would like to know if anyone thinks if this is accurate or not? I am thinking maybe the Scuderia models are the exclusive versions of the tires that you get when you first buy the Enzo, and maybe the RE050A is more like the consumer replacement tire after the first set. By the way, since this is tire related question, I've noticed Revell tires are a bit thinner in width across, is the Tamiya more accurate in this area?

I've checked around and haven't seen anyone notice this or asked, which is why I am asking.

Sounds entyrely reasonable to me. And if you're not burning through tyres, what's the point of having an Enzo?

Re: Enzo Tires

The full name is Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Scuderia, and one side on the tire wall should say BRIDGESTONE, the other says POTENZA RE050A SCUDERIA, so neither kit is accurate; Revell's missing the RE050A part, and Tamiya doesn't have SCUDERIA. It's interesting that both are inaccurate, and it could be some licensing issue.

Sometimes fitted tire widths are different from the catalogue numbers (by a few millimeters), but suppose 245 and 345 are accurate, they should be 10.21 and 14.38 mm in 1/24 scale respectively.

Revell's front and rear tires are measured 10 and 13.5 mm, so they're 0.21 and 0.88 mm too narrow, while Tamiya's are 13 and 16 mm, so they're too wide by 2.49 and 1.63 mm. So, Revell is closer to the actual widths.
