'98 Catera Battery Drain

This Catera will not restart after being left overnight, charging system checks out good, battery load test shows good battery. Test light between battery terminal and positive cable end (removed) lights up and doesn't go out until you pull almost every large fuse link out of the box. I'm sure this vehicle is supposed to have nominal draw from the battery in key out engine off status, but I think it should only light the test light dimly, not so bright.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Try disconnecting the alternator overnight and see if that changes anything. I'm thinking about a bad diode.

Thank you for your input. I shall try this... the alternator on this vehicle is difficult to get to, but I will do as you suggest.

Thank you again... any other input still requested.
